Retouching
One
of our clients, after seeing the work we had done on her photos,
said it was "Like magic!"
Any type of photos can be retouched, however horse owners especially
can benefit from photo retouching since horses are often difficult
to photograph.

At the request of the owner, we removed mud on his legs, lightened
the tail, highlighted him, put him in a different background (and
put two new cactuses in there), adjusted the clouds, etc. Click
for larger pictures.

Before & After
As horse people know, good photos can be hard to take, but they
are VERY important when selling your horse or advertising your
stallion. Take a look at any of the sale horse websites-- you'll
notice that horses with clean, uncluttered pictures sell faster
and for more money than those horses with poor pictures.
Why? First impressions are important! People make unconscious
assumptions about the pictures when they see them. When they see
a horse with a bad picture, many people think, "Why would
I pay money for a horse that the owners don't even care enough
to take a good picture of?"
This is true for all things, not just horses. I read an article
about making money on Ebay. The author stated that good pictures
were essential. In fact, he told about a woman he knew who made
money just by buying items with bad pictures, then relisting them
on Ebay with good pictures, for a higher price!
One of our clients, after seeing the retouching I did on her photos,
said it was "Like magic!". We can retouch & clean
up your photos to make them look professional and clean. Removing
objects, replacing backgrounds, adding ribbons, etc. is all no
problem. If you're interested, why not send
us an email with the pictures & what you'd like done...
We'll take a look and let you know what we can do!
Here
are some more examples:
Before:

Kara
was running a stallion ad in a magazine... but her best photo of
Mister showed him just after a ride, all sweaty, with some dirt
on his hip, and tied to an old trailer. The deadline for ad submission
was tomorrow, so she contacted us to see if we could fix it fast.
After:

Along
with the original photo, she had sent us one of her riding Mister
in front of a lake. We took out the background and replaced it with
the lake. We also removed the sweat marks, dirt on his hip, leadropes,
etc. As you can see, this picture makes for a much better stallion
ad than the one above! How much did all of this cost? Just $35!

The hand distracts from the filly's pretty head and eyes.

The hand and leadrope are removed from the photo.

A photo showing off the head of the colt Truly Be Downtown.
However, it has a 'glazed over' look and there is too much
lightness and redness in the photo. The black background
is off-black and the colt has a slightly pink tinge. The
hand is distracting and draws attention away from the colt's
muzzle. |

After we adjusted the photo, the colt's golden coat gleams
against the pitch black background. The hand has been removed.

This friesian is nice-- but the building, tanks, date, arm,
road, and leadrope all distract from the horse. Photo from
Rolling
Thunder Friesians.
|

We've removed the distracting objects and put a more simple
background in. We sharpened and enhanced the color of the
grass, and darkened the friesian to a deeper black.
|

This picture of Sundown
Tux has a stick that appears to be growing from his girth
area. The patchy background makes the photo too busy. It's hard
to see his right ear. Also, part of his right hind hoof is cut
off.
|

Here we changed the background to match the color of the website.
We added shadows to make him stand out and built up his hind
hoof.
