About
Us
A large oak tree provides the landmark as you turn into Laurelwood. Just
as oak trees have a solid foundation,
it becomes immediately clear that careful planning has provided the same
solid foundation for this new equestrian facility. The road winds down
past the round corral to the mare motel
which houses the much loved horses - children's first horses, world champions,
just-started two-year-olds preparing for their show careers, barrel horses,
and more. Beyond the mare motel is "Pal's Palace" which houses
a beautiful Morgan stallion. It provides him a view of the new riding
arena and turnout pens, beyond which is the barrel racing arena.
While the facilities
are an ongoing work-in-progress, one of the most enjoyable aspects of
the location is the adjacent sandy riverbed. It provides everyone a beautiful
ride on their favorite horse, all the while riding among the oaks with
a breeze rustling through the leaves. Laurelwood Farm is building a sound
foundation for the riders, both beginning and experienced; for the horses,
both new to training and experienced show horses; and for the relationships
of the staff and clients with and among each other.
