Comet's Little Lady

1988 Chestnut

Grade Quarter Horse Brood Mare

Foaled:  Spring 1988

Height: 14.2 Hands

Approx. Weight: 1,100 lbs.

Comet is a solid brood mare, producing smaller, cowy, athletic colts that are people friendly.  She has produced 13 foals as of spring 2007.  Colors include Bays, Buckskins, Palominos, Sorrels, Red Roans and Grays.

She is a favorite brood mare and her sire and dam's bloodline say a lot when it comes to producing quality ranch horses.

She may not look like much now, but in her time she was a fancy, well balanced little mare, considerably smaller than both her sire and dam, so there is height potential in her background.  She was the last foal produced by Red Dun Lady.   Comet's colts generally have more height, depending on which stallion I breed her to, but cow sense is almost always a likely attribute of all her colts!

*The horses in the following pedigrees that are typed in capitol letters are AQHA or APHA registered stock.

The lower case typed horse names are grade quarter horses and/or quarter horse/thoroughbred crossed horses,

steming from my father, grandfather and great grandfather's horses.

Snowflake II

Grade Palomino Quarter Horse Brood Mare

Foaled:  Spring 1983

Height: 14.3 Hands

Weight: Approximately 1,200 lbs.

Snowflake II has produced 16 foals as of spring 2006!  She is the dam to Buckskin Bo pictured on the stallion/home page.

We currently ride two of her geldings on our ranch.

Their disposition is priceless, their cow sense a guarantee and they aren't bad looking horses either!

She has produced palominos, buckskins, bays, grays, red roans and sorrels.

Foxy Lady

Blood Bay

Grade Quarter Horse, 1/4th TB Brood Mare

Foaled:  Spring 1988

Height:  15.2 Hands

Weight:  1,350 Approx.

Foxy Lady has produced 14 foals as of spring 2007.  She commonly produces grays, sorrels, bays and red roans.

Her colts are built to run.  She is the lead mare of the herd and earned that position easily with her speed and watchful eye.

There won't be many more foals out of this cross, so barrel racers hurry before she's gone.  All of her foals have been easy

on the eye, long legged colts with narrow barrels, high withers, short backs, long necks, keen heads and speed, speed, speed!

They aren't always cow horses, but I am currently riding one of her older sons

and he can get the job done in a hurry and still has more stamina to go all day long if needed.

We have always crossed her on Spooky Rip and most of her colts have been taller than 15 hands

and the one I ride stands 15.3 hands.

Southern Dell Fox - AQHA Appendix # X0459880

Blood Bay Brood Mare

Foaled:  May 24, 1990

Height:  15.2 Hands

Weight:  Approx. 1,300

Southern Dell Fox has produced 10 foals as of spring 2006.

She produces beautiful fillies and keen looking horse colts.

Her colts take after their sire generally and are smaller built, generally averaging around 14.3 hands tall,

however once in a while she throws one as tall as herself.  She is a full sister to Ten Sleep Foxy Bar

My only regrets are that I didn't keep more of her full sisters.

This bloodline passes on good looks and cow sense, along with tons of common sense.

If anyone knows what happened to her full sister & foals below:

"Val Leah Bar King" - 1997 Sorrel AQHA Appendix Mare (sister to Southern Dell Fox)

&

"King Bar Passion" - 1995 Gray AQHA Appendix Gelding

&

"What A Classy Dell" - 2002 AQHA Appendix Mare

Please let me know.

I'll try to post their colt pictures later below this message.

King Bar Passion was owned in 1996 by some folks that lived near Roberts, Montana and they lost his registration papers in a fire and re-application was never done before he sold again.  He was then sold to someone in Montana sometime after 1997 without his papers.  I'd love to help give him his ID back, so if you own him or know the person that does, please contact me.

Val Leah Bar King temporarily resided in Manderson, WY as a long yearling and was later sold through her 3rd owner to an unknown buyer without her papers being sent on with the filly to the new owner sometime around 1999 or 2000 or possibly 2001.

What A Classy Dell - Her papers have never been transfered into the new owner's name, even though I filled out a transfer

at the sale and turned them in at the sale barn's office.

I sold her in the spring of 2003 at the Vern Black Horse Sale in Riverton, WY as a yearling.

Her papers are yellow or AQHA Appendix papers and her picture is on the papers!

Folks, please pass their papers on to the new owners!!!

It does you no good to keep their papers and sell the horse without their ID!

It only hurts the horse and they loose their identity!!

Is your foolish pride or dirty dealing really worth it?

Red Fox

Grade Sorrel Quarter Horse Brood Mare

Foaled:  May 14th, 1989

Height:  15.2 Hands

Weight:  Approx. 1,250 lbs.

Red Fox is another favorite brood mare of mine with a dandy bloodline.  Grade or not,

she's better bred than most quarter horses these days and isn't bad to look at either.

Quality conformation, athletic ability and good disposition along with plenty of cow sense are just some of the attributes that she passes on to her foals.  Speed and long distance running are in

her bloodline!  Anyone remember Big Red owned by my father Boyd Mills?

He entered him in the long distance race from Hyattville to Ten Sleep many years ago.

Big Red was the only local horse fit enough to finish the race in a decent time.

I believe he came in 4th, beat only by 3 well conditioned Arabians!!

We ride one of her full brothers and he's the type that I wish would stay young forever!

She has produced 8 foals as of spring 2006.

She is open this year, but we expect a foal in 2008 sired by Spooky Rip.

Snowflake's Fancy

Grade Quarter Horse, 1/4th TB Brood Mare

aka - "Fancy"

Foaled:  May 4th, 1989

Height:  15.1 Hands

Weight:  Approx. 1,100 lbs.

Fancy has been a dependable brood mare and has produced 10 horse colts as of spring 2005.

Yahoo!  She finally produced a filly for 2007.  I will not sell this rare filly though, sorry!

She crosses well on Spooky Rip and has produced several red roans, grays and a few sorrels.

We ride her 1st son, named Leo, on the ranch and couldn't imagine not having him around.

He's very dependable and has turned into an excellent little cow horse.  He stands just 14.3 and

isn't a long distance running horse, but he gets the job done and shows his cow sense consistently.

Fancy is in foal for a 2008 colt, sired by Spooky Rip.

There is a chance that she will someday retire to CA to produce more rope horses like our Leo

and Roni, the fancy red roan gelding that you see pictured roping steers for Chris Handle

on the Sold Colts  page.

Frosty Flame

Grade Red Roan Quarter Horse, 1/4th TB Brood Mare

Foaled:  Spring 1990

Height:  16 Hands +

Weight:  1,400 lbs.

Ya, well, so Frosty Flame isn't much to look at, but she sure produces gentle, pretty colts

and they don't stay in my corral very long, so obviously her foals are better looking than she is!

So far crossed on Spooky Rip she has produced grays, red roans and sorrels.

She has produced 12 foals as of spring 2007.

I will be showcasing a few more of her colts on the SOLD COLTS page soon!

See "Flame" on the SOLD COLTS page- her 2005 Sorrel Filly!

In my opinion, young Flame is the epitomy of a perfect ranch or performance horse!

More hancock breeding in this mare's bloodline and her granddame and

great granddame were favorite Mills family brood mares.

Most of her colts are big boned, plenty of muscle, gentle dispositions & very cowy.

I have heard back from one owner from Texas that said his horse (Frosty Flame's gray filly) bucks,

but he said that was after she had gone through 5 different horse trader's hands and finally ended up

with a caring owner that liked her looks, athletic ability and cow sense and knew how to handle a horse!!

I hope you are still riding her and I hope to hear back from you soon!!

She is bred back to Spooky Rip for a 2008 foal.

Duskie - Brown

Grade Quarter Horse, 1/4th TB Brood Mare

Foaled:  April 26th, 1994

Height:  15.3 to 16 Hands

Weight:  Approx. 1,300 lbs.

Duskie has produced 7 foals as of Spring 2007,

two bay roans, one bay and two gray fillies and one brown colt.

Her dam's bloodline stems from a long line of Mills family brood mares.

They all had plenty of speed, cow sense and longevity.

Her dam, "Bay Roan Mare", is still alive at age 27.

Duskie is a sound, fast traveling mare with a long stride and plenty of wind to go all day.

We currently ride her oldest full brother on the ranch and when he was young

we weren't sure if he'd ever run out of faster gears!

Barrel racers, Pole Benders and Ropers, take a long hard look at her yearly foals.

She's got all the right stuff to produce great performance prospects and we've down sized the height of her

foals a bit by crossing her on Spooky Rip and added more cow with shorter bursts of speed & pretty heads.

Color:  Brown

Foaled:  April 1993

Height:  15.2 Hands

Weight:  Approx. 1,300 lbs.

Queenie is one good looking GRADE mare!  Isn't she?

She has produced 5 foals as of spring 2007.

Two bay roans, 2 grays and one sorrel, all sired by Spooky Rip.

She is a granddaughter to our own Peppy Rojo, making her a great granddaughter to Peppy!

You can't ride papers, so why not ride a good looking Queenie colt!!

Queenie will be producing fine ranch prospects for many years to come!

She is in foal for 2008 to Spooky Rip.

KINGS QUICK KC

KINGS QUICK KC

Sorrel Mare (she's turned dark chestnut now)

AQHA # 3294698

Foaled:  June 20, 1994

Height:  15 Hands

Weight:  Approx 1,200 lbs.

KC is a really good brood mare and produced 10 fine foals as of spring 2007.

Her colts not only have eye appeal, they have balanced conformation,

people loving dispositions and are just plain fun to have around!

Check out her extended pedigree and then add it to Spooky Rip's pedigree and

you've got a foal with plenty of foundation breeding!

She produced two colts that will soon be standing as stallions!!

One in Kodiak, Alaska and one in Lewis, Colorado!!

If you are looking for a fine stallion prospect, try one of KC's colts.

If I needed to keep a replacement stallion, KC's foals will be the first that I choose from.

Color/Type:  Sorrel/Overo

Foaled:  April 12, 1994

Height:  14.1 - 14.2 Hands

Weight:  1,100 lbs.

Current Owner:  Dawn Allred

Currently Leased to:  Lynette Mills

Jester has produced 4 foals for me, crossed on Ten Sleep Foxy Bar

She produced several paint foals under the care of Stan & Dawn Allred of Ten Sleep.

She is bred to Ten Sleep Foxy Bar for a 2008 foal.

She has produced 2 sorrel/overo fillies, one solid sorrel gelding

with white stockings and one bay roan overo stallion named

Classy Jack Frost, pictured and For Sale on my 2004/2005 COLTS page.

Jester's colts have all been tall colts with pretty heads and balanced conformations.

They would make excellent barrel racers and maybe reining prospects or you could

probably put them in a few english events!  Very amiable colts with good minds & bone!

I wouldn't hesitate to use them as big rope prospects either.

Plenty of speed and cow in this mare's extended bloodlines.

KANSAS BAR SUE

AQHA # 3724412

Sorrel Mare

Foaled:  May 05,1998

Height:  14.2 Hands

Weight:  Approx. 1,050 lbs.

Susie has produced 4 dandy horse colts for me as of 2006 and one pretty

blood bay, Ten Sleep Foxy Bar, filly in 2007

She is small, but as you can see, very well balanced.

She is a half sister to King Quick KC, pictured above.  She produces friendly, cowy nice looking

colts that generally out grow their dam and tend to be a good average 15 hands or better.

I usually cross her on Ten Sleep Foxy Bar, so her colts are all AQHA Appendix registered,

but you wouldn't know it to look at them.  They would be barely 1/8th Thoroughbred.

They look just like a typical straight bred quarter horse.

She tends to throw sorrels, but she did produce one bay colt.

If you need a good rope prospect, Susie's colts are the right type.

They should also make nice barrel horses.  Plenty of speed and athletic ability in her colts!

KING POCA SILVER BAR

AQHA # 3396991

RED ROAN MARE

Foaled:  April 13, 1995

Height:  14.3

Weight:  Approx. 1,250 lbs.

Poca has produced 5 registered foals and one un-registerable filly.

Her first filly could not be registered because of AQHA and their DNA rules when they were first applied.   The sire to that filly was deceased and/or sold and DNA was not done on him, making her first foal sadly unable to have her registration completed.  What a dirty deal that was!

All foals out of Poca after that year are registered AQHA or APHA foals.

I generally out breed this mare, but for 2007 she has produced a Ten Sleep Foxy Bar filly.

For 2006 she produced a pretty blue roan (On A Blue Pine) AQHA stallion,

sired by Smoko Cash and I have bred her back to Smoke for a 2008 foal.

Smoko Cash is a black stallion owned by Mike & Tina Belliston of Powell, WY.

To contact Mike & Tina, call 307-754-2340 for more info and breeding fees.

Poca produces sweet foals with pretty heads and smart, willing attitudes.

They are well balanced, good minded colts that, to me, epitomize the perfect AQHA or APHA horse.  See Sullivan's Poco Bar on the 2004/2005 "COLTS" page.

He is already sold, but is a very classy looking King Poca Silver Bar colt.

SPOOKY FLAME

SPOOKY FLAME

Grade Quarter Horse Brood Mare

Foaled:  May 14th, 1996

Height:  14.2-14.3 Hands

Weight:  Approx. 1,200 lbs.

Spooky Flame has produced 5 foals as of spring 2007.

She has produced the following colors crossed on Buckskin Bo:

One brown, one beautiful palomino and one cute, chunky red roan filly (all sold!).

Her first foal was sired by Ten Sleep Foxy Bar and he was a sweet, soggy built dark red colt.

She has plenty of height in her dam's bloodline, so don't be fooled by her small size.

She's built like a tank and raises sturdy, well muscled colts!

She is in foal to Buckskin Bo for a 2008 foal.

DOLLY

Grade Quarter Horse Brood Mare

Foaled:  May 4th, 1998

Height:  14.2 Hands

Weight: Approx. 1,050 lbs.

Dolly has produced 4 foals as of Spring 2007.

Three gray fillies and one buckskin colt, all three foal were sired by Buckskin Bo.

Dolly is a daughter of our lead mare, Foxy Lady, pictured above and

sired by Spooky Rip, adding cow and speed all in one cute little package!

Dolly is an easy going, gentle, ready to please mare that has produced colts with the

same disposition and plenty of eye appeal.  Her 2005 buckskin gelding was trained and broke to ride

by my 11 year old neice this summer 2006!!!  That Horse Is Not For Sale!  ;-)

Dolly is in foal to Buckskin Bo for a 2008 foal.

Tough Sugar Dell Fox

Sugar's 2007 'Buckskin Bo' Filly - Already SOLD!

Tough Sugar Dell Fox

AQHA Appendix # X0573183

Color:  Palomino

Height:  15 Hands

Weight:  1,250 lbs. +

Sugar is one beautiful mare!  She is out of Bold Poca Leah Bar, a gray daughter of Spooky Rip!

Her maternal granddame, Souther Dell Fox, is pictured above.  Sugar's sire, Dude Jones, was in

cutting competitions in Utah.  Very flashy stallion with a sweet disposition.  Sugar's dam is deceased,

but she also had a kind, easy going disposition.  Sugar has been hard to get pregnant and hard to stay pregnant,

but she did produce the 2007 grade quarter horse buckskin filly pictured with her above.
